Fairing Post-Purchase Surveys
Capture the conversions that links and promo codes miss with “How did you hear about us?” surveys.
Why Surveys Matter
Most influencer-driven purchases don’t start with a link click. Customers see a creator’s content, remember the brand, and search for it later. Surveys capture these invisible conversions.

How Creator Matching Works
When a customer types a response, we match it against all creators in your portfolio:
| Match Type | Example | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Exact handle match | Customer types "jessica.styles", creator handle is jessica.styles | 90% |
| Handle substring | Customer types "I saw jessica.styles on TikTok" | 70% |
| Name match | Customer types "Jessica Styles", creator name is Jessica Styles | 60% |
The first exact match wins. If no exact match, the best partial match above 60% confidence is used.
Best Practices
Use Open Text, Not Multiple Choice
Multiple choice limits responses to creators you’ve pre-selected. Open text catches mentions of any creator — even ones you didn’t expect.
Keep the Question Simple
“How did you hear about us?” works best. Avoid complex phrasing that might confuse customers.
Add Creator Handles to Your Roster
Make sure all creators in your portfolio have accurate handles and display names. The matching algorithm uses these to identify mentions.
Combining All Attribution Methods
CreatorScore checks attribution signals in priority order:
Direct Link Click
95% confidence — Checked first
Promo Code
95% confidence — Checked second via Shopify
Survey
60–90% confidence — Fills the gap
If a conversion is already attributed via link click or promo code, the survey response is stored but doesn’t create a duplicate attribution.
Troubleshooting
Survey responses not appearing
Verify the webhook URL is correct and Fairing is sending POST requests.
Creator not matching
Check that the creator’s handle/name in CreatorScore matches what customers type.
Low confidence matches
This is normal for partial name matches. Review the raw answers on your dashboard.
