A footprint is the set of accounts we treat as one creator. Getting it wrong in either direction — missing a real account, or including a stranger's — makes the score or report wrong, so every candidate account is fetched from its platform and checked before it is included.
The labels
- Verified — the account exists and something the creator published ties it to them: their own link-in-bio page lists it, one bio names the other handle, or it is the same handle with a matching name. Included automatically.
- Likely — the account exists and looks like the same person, but nothing published proves it. Offered to you with the evidence; include it only if you know it is theirs.
- Checked, not theirs — we looked it up and it does not exist, or the profile is clearly someone else. Listed so you can see we checked; never included.
- Unchecked — we could not look it up right now. Treated like likely: offered, never auto-included.
Reddit profiles cannot be verified automatically at the moment, so Reddit accounts appear as unchecked. Include one only if you are sure.
A confidence percentage is not a verdict
Older reports showed a discovery confidence number next to accounts. That number described how the account was found, not whether it was real. Since October 2026 every account carries one of the labels above and a one-line reason.
