▸ The short answer

Pick by what you need after the contract is signed. CreatorIQ SafeIQ fits teams already running campaigns in CreatorIQ. VwD fits regulated categories like alcohol, finance and supplements. RepCheck is for a creator watching their own reputation. Ferretly is a background screening company with keyword-triggered rescreening. CreatorScore reads every new post on 9 platforms each day, emails you when it confirms a serious finding, and rescores the whole footprint every month, at a published $19.98 per creator per month.

▸ Before you compare

What should a monitoring tool actually do?

Three things. It should read new posts often enough that you hear about a problem before your customers do, which in practice means every day. It should tell you what was posted and why it matters, with a link to the post, so your team can decide in minutes rather than investigate for an afternoon. And it should cover every platform the creator is active on, because the post that causes trouble is rarely on the account in the brief.

Ask each vendor how often it checks, which platforms it reads, whether it watches live streams, and what an alert actually contains. For a fuller checklist, see the eight criteria talent managers use.

▸ CreatorIQ SafeIQ

When is CreatorIQ SafeIQ the right choice?

When your campaigns already run in CreatorIQ. SafeIQ launched in October 2025. It reads text, images, video and audio, runs Lookback before an activation and Monitoring during it, and lets teams set standards by brand, division and market. It is also sold on its own.

Its severity ratings learn from each team’s review decisions, so two brands can see different results for the same creator. Pricing is by demo.

▸ VwD

When is VwD the right choice?

When regulation is the main worry. VwD checks content against FTC, FINRA, FDA and TTB rules, which matters for finance, health, supplement and alcohol brands. It reads video, audio, images and text across a creator’s history and keeps monitoring after that. Its site doesn’t list which social platforms it covers. Pricing is published as tokens at $55–$69 each, and a full scan costs 3 tokens.

▸ Viral Nation

When is Viral Nation the right choice?

When you want an agency to run creator programs for you and include safety checks. Viral Nation is both an agency and a software company (CreatorOS), and its site describes AI scanning of historical content, AI creator scores and continuous monitoring. Pricing is custom and usually tied to agency services.

▸ Ferretly

When is Ferretly the right choice?

When the same team screens employees and creators. Ferretly is a background screening company used by HR, compliance and law enforcement as well as brands. It reads text and images across 14 behavior categories, holds SOC 2 Type 2, and supports FCRA processes for hiring. Its Continuous Screening reruns when keywords match rather than reading every new post. Reports start at $29.

▸ RepCheck

When is RepCheck the right choice?

When a creator, or the team behind one, wants to watch their own reputation. RepCheck reads the replies to a creator’s posts to see which way the audience is leaning, which can show a pile-on starting early. It names X and Reddit, with more platforms rolling out, and is in a closed pilot.

▸ CreatorScore

When is CreatorScore the right choice?

When you want every signed creator watched across all their platforms for one published price. Once a creator has a score, monitoring reads their new posts every day on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, Threads, Reddit, LinkedIn and Kick. When it confirms a critical or high finding, it emails you with the post and the reason. Every 30 days the whole footprint is rescored, so the 1–100 score stays current. Monitoring and the monthly rescore cost $19.98 per creator per month. See how monitoring works.

Where the others are stronger: VwD maps findings to FINRA, FDA and TTB rules, which we don’t; SafeIQ sits inside a full campaign platform, which we aren’t; and RepCheck goes deeper on audience replies. We also don’t monitor live streams yet.

▸ Not monitoring tools

Which popular tools don't monitor after signing?

Some tools you will see on these lists check a creator once or do a different job. HypeAuditor focuses on audience authenticity and fraud and doesn’t monitor creators continuously. Phyllo produces pre-screening reports and doesn’t re-check after signing. Modash, GRIN and Aspire run discovery, outreach and payments and don’t scan content for brand-safety risk. Upfluence screens a creator’s past year on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube before outreach, but doesn’t re-check after signing. They can be good at those jobs, but they won’t tell you when a signed creator posts something you need to know about.

▸ CreatorScore

▸ Questions

Common questions

What is the best influencer brand safety monitoring tool?

It depends on what you need it to do after the contract is signed. CreatorIQ SafeIQ suits enterprises already running campaigns in CreatorIQ. VwD suits brands in regulated categories, because it checks FTC, FINRA, FDA and TTB rules. RepCheck suits a creator or their team watching one reputation, though it is in a closed pilot and names X and Reddit. Ferretly is a background screening company whose ongoing screening is triggered by keywords. CreatorScore reads every new post a signed creator makes on 9 platforms each day, emails you when it confirms a critical or high finding with the post attached, and rescores the whole footprint every 30 days for a published $19.98 per creator per month. We make CreatorScore.

What is the difference between vetting and monitoring?

Vetting reads a creator's history once, before you sign them. Monitoring keeps reading what they post after you sign, for as long as the partnership runs. A report from the day you signed can be out of date the next day, so most brands need both: a full check before the contract and monitoring for the length of the campaign.

Which influencer tools don't monitor creators after signing?

Several well-known tools vet once or focus on other jobs. HypeAuditor is built around audience authenticity and fraud checks and doesn't monitor creators continuously. Phyllo produces pre-screening reports and doesn't re-check after signing. Campaign platforms such as Modash, GRIN and Aspire run discovery, outreach and payments, and don't scan content for brand-safety risk. Upfluence screens a creator's past year on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube before outreach, but doesn't re-check after signing.

Does monitoring cover live streams?

Not on CreatorScore today. Daily monitoring reads posts, and live streams are coming later. Check this with any vendor if your creators stream, because a lot of risk happens live.

How much does influencer monitoring cost?

Published prices vary a lot. CreatorScore charges $19.98 per creator per month for daily monitoring plus the monthly rescore, after a first score of $9.99. VwD sells tokens at $55 to $69 each, with a full scan costing 3 tokens. Ferretly starts at $29 per report. CreatorIQ, Viral Nation and RepCheck don't publish prices.
